You don't have to have everything figured out before you reach out.
Let's talk.
Whether you have a simple question or you're ready to enroll, we'd love to hear from you. Spots for August 2026 are limited — the best first step is simply saying hello.
Frequently asked questions
Answers to what families ask most.
Who is Amazingly Uplifted Academy for?+
We serve students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade who have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder or an intellectual disability. Our school is designed specifically for students who need a specialized, small, and supportive learning environment to truly thrive.
When do you open and are you enrolling now?+
Yes — we are actively enrolling now for our inaugural class opening in August 2026. Spots are very limited due to our small classroom model, so we encourage families to reach out as soon as possible.
Does my child need an ILP to enroll?+
No. An existing ILP is not required for enrollment. However, if your child has a current ILP we ask that you share it. If your child doesn't have one yet, we're happy to help you understand how to request an evaluation from your local school district.
What documents do I need to apply?+
Diagnosis documentation from a licensed professional, your child's most recent school records or transcripts, and a current ILP if one exists. If you're missing any of these, reach out and we'll help.
How many students are in each classroom?+
No more than 5 students per teacher. This is one of our core commitments and will never change.
What is the enrollment process?+
It starts with a simple conversation. From there, you'll tour our campus, submit an application and supporting documents, and attend an intake meeting where we get to know your child in depth.
Does AUA provide therapy on-site?+
We partner with trusted third-party therapy agencies so students can access Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and ABA therapy — all scheduled during the school day and administered right here at our school.
Do you provide ABA therapy at the school?+
We do not operate a clinical ABA therapy program. However, our staff includes a BCBA and an RBT who bring behavior analytic practices into our classrooms every day. Behavior science is embedded into how we teach — it just isn't delivered as a standalone clinical service.
What if my child already receives therapy outside of school?+
We'll work with your existing providers to ensure consistency between what happens in therapy and what happens in our classrooms.
Does my child need to receive therapy to attend AUA?+
No. Therapy services are available and encouraged, but they are not a requirement for enrollment.
What does a typical school day look like?+
Structured, predictable, and purposeful. Students move through a daily schedule that includes academic instruction aligned with Georgia State Standards, communication and social skills practice, movement and sensory breaks, specials, and life skills activities. Every day is individualized to ILP goals.
What time does school start and end?+
School hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:30 PM.
How do you handle challenging behavior?+
We believe challenging behavior is communication — and our job is to understand it, not just respond. Our BCBA and RBT work with classroom staff to implement proactive, individualized behavior support strategies. Families are always involved.
Do you have sensory spaces?+
Yes. Located inside Phase Learning Center, AUA students have access to a spacious gym and indoor playground throughout the school day. These spaces are used proactively — never as a consequence.
How will I know what my child is doing each day?+
You'll have direct access to your child's teacher via phone, email, or text, plus regular formal progress reports and scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
Do you follow the Georgia academic standards?+
Yes. We teach the Georgia State Standards for K–2 in adapted and modified formats so every student is exposed to the same academic content as their neurotypical peers.
What does your school building look like?+
We're located inside Phase Learning Center at 12150 Morris Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30005 — a state-of-the-art facility near Avalon with sensory-thoughtful classrooms, art room, STEM room, culinary room, gym, and indoor and outdoor playgrounds.
Is there a uniform or dress code?+
Details on dress code are coming soon — please contact us for current information.
