You don't have to have everything figured out before you reach out.
Let's talk.
Whether you have a simple question or you're ready to enroll, we'd love to hear from you. Spots for August 2026 are limited — the best first step is simply saying hello.
Frequently asked questions
Answers to what families ask most.
Who is Amazingly Uplifted Academy for?+
We serve children ages 3 to 5 with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, or developmental delays. Our preschool is designed specifically for children who need a specialized, small, and supportive learning environment to truly thrive.
When do you open and are you enrolling now?+
Yes, we are actively enrolling now for our inaugural class opening in August 2026. Spots are very limited due to our small classroom model, so we encourage families to reach out as soon as possible.
Does my child need an IEP or IFSP to enroll?+
No. An existing IEP or IFSP is not required for enrollment. However, if your child has one we ask that you share it. If your child doesn't have one yet, we're happy to help you understand how to request an evaluation.
What documents do I need to apply?+
Diagnosis or developmental evaluation documentation from a licensed professional, records from your child's current or most recent preschool or early intervention program, and a current IEP or IFSP if one exists. If you're missing any of these, reach out and we'll help.
How many children are in each classroom?+
Our student-to-teacher ratio is intentionally small so every child receives genuine individualized attention. This is one of our core commitments and will never change.
What is the enrollment process?+
It starts with a simple conversation. From there, you'll submit an application and supporting documents, tour our campus, and attend an intake meeting where we get to know your child in depth.
Does AUA provide therapy on-site?+
We partner with trusted third-party therapy agencies so children can access Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and ABA services, all scheduled during the school day and administered right here at our school.
Do you provide ABA therapy at the school?+
We do not operate a clinical ABA therapy program. However, our staff includes a BCBA and RBTs who bring behavior analytic practices into our classrooms every day. Behavior science is embedded into how we teach. It just isn't delivered as a standalone clinical service.
What if my child already receives therapy outside of school?+
We'll work with your existing providers to ensure consistency between what happens in therapy and what happens in our classrooms.
Does my child need to receive therapy to attend AUA?+
No. Therapy services are available and encouraged, but they are not a requirement for enrollment.
What does a typical school day look like?+
Structured, predictable, and purposeful. Children move through a daily schedule that includes academic instruction aligned with Georgia Pre-K standards, communication and social skills practice, movement and regulation breaks, enrichment, and life skills activities. Every day is individualized to each child's learning plan.
What time does school start and end?+
Our program runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, giving families a full-day option.
How do you handle challenging behavior?+
We believe challenging behavior is communication, and our job is to understand it, not just respond. Our BCBA and RBTs work with classroom staff to implement proactive, individualized behavior support strategies. Families are always involved.
Do you have sensory spaces?+
Yes. Located inside Phase Learning Center, AUA children have access to a spacious gym and indoor playground throughout the school day. These spaces are used proactively, never as a consequence.
How will I know what my child is doing each day?+
You'll have direct access to your child's teacher via phone, email, or text, plus regular formal progress reports and scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
Do you follow the Georgia academic standards?+
Yes. We teach the Georgia Pre-K standards in adapted and modified formats so every child is exposed to the same foundational content as their neurotypical peers.
What does your school building look like?+
We're located inside Phase Learning Center at 12150 Morris Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30005, a state-of-the-art facility near Avalon with sensory-thoughtful classrooms, art room, STEM room, culinary room, gym, and indoor and outdoor playgrounds.
Is there a uniform or dress code?+
Details on dress code are coming soon. Please contact us for current information.
Do you offer extended day care?+
Our program already runs from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday, so extended care is built right in.
